Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of RentEase. They spell out what the service does, what we charge, and what each side of a rent transaction — renter and landlord — agrees to.

Effective date: July 16, 2026 · Last updated: July 16, 2026

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, a legal resident of the United States, and able to enter into a binding contract to use RentEase. Renters must have an active lease on a qualifying rental unit in the United States. Landlords must own or legally manage the property for which they receive rent.

You agree that the information you provide during signup is accurate, current, and complete. Using a name other than your legal name, providing a property address you do not own or manage, or misrepresenting your income or employment is grounds for immediate suspension and reversal of any payouts.

2. The RentEase service

RentEase pays your full rent to your landlord on the date it is due, then helps you repay RentEase in smaller installments sized to your paycheck. We underwrite the rent decision with a soft credit pull, which does not affect your credit score. Once approved, you enter a repayment plan with scheduled installments.

  • We collect the full rent on behalf of the property owner from our own funds on the rent due date.
  • You repay RentEase in weekly installments tied to your pay schedule.
  • Your underlying lease is unchanged — rent is still owed to your landlord; the installment plan is with RentEase.

3. Account signup & underwriting

To use RentEase, you must create an account, verify your identity, link a US bank account via our bank-verification partner (your bank credentials are tokenized and never reach our servers), and complete a soft credit check. Approval is at our discretion based on the soft-pull report, your stated income, and the rent you intend to cover. A hard inquiry is never performed.

Each approved renter is paired with a plan that shows the rent amount, installment schedule, total fees, and the date of each installment charge before the plan activates.

4. Fees & how they're disclosed

RentEase charges a $9.99/month subscription plus 2% per installment on weekly plans and a $9.99/month subscription plus 1.5% per installmenton twice-monthly plans. Both amounts are disclosed in US dollars at signup, before you agree to a plan, and they do not change for the duration of the plan. There are no origination fees, no prepayment penalties, and no late fees beyond what is described in section 6.

Examples, disclosed upfront:
• A $2,000 monthly rent split into eight weekly installments of $250 each carries the $9.99 monthly subscription on the first installment plus 2% × $250 = $5.00 per installment, so $14.99 on the first charge and $5.00 on each of the seven that follow.
• A $1,800 monthly rent split into four twice-monthly installments of $450 each carries the $9.99 monthly subscription on the first installment plus 1.5% × $450 = $6.75 per installment, so $16.74 on the first charge and $6.75 on each of the three that follow.

5. Payment authorization

By activating a plan, you authorize RentEase (or our payment processor) to debit your linked bank account or charge your linked card on each scheduled installment date for the amount shown in your plan. This authorization remains in effect until your plan is paid in full, you cancel it, or you revoke it in writing.

Auto-pay is opt-in. You can disable automatic charges at any time from your dashboard and pay manually on or before each due date. Disabling auto-pay does not extinguish amounts you already owe under an active plan.

Bank ACH debits are processed by our payments partner; debit-card and credit-card charges are processed by Stripe. You authorize us to store a tokenized reference to your payment method (we never see your full card or bank credentials).

6. Late & failed payments

If an installment fails, we automatically retry on a published schedule (typically within 2–5 business days). You will receive email notice each time a charge is attempted and each time it fails. If the retries exhaust without success, the installment is marked delinquent.

  • No late fees.Beyond the subscription fee and the per-installment service percentage in section 4, RentEase does not charge additional fees for late or missed installments.
  • Collections. A delinquent account may be referred to a third-party collections agency. You remain responsible for any reasonable collection costs permitted by law.
  • Credit reporting. We do not report late or missed payments to consumer credit bureaus.

7. Landlord terms

Landlords receive the full rent owed on the rent due date via ACH to a verified US bank account. RentEase pays landlords on the 1st of each month for rent collected via active renter plans; landlord onboarding requires property verification and bank-account verification.

By signing up as a landlord, you represent that you are authorized to receive rent for each property you list. If a renter disputes a charge with their bank (a chargeback) after we have paid you, RentEase may recover the disputed amount from your next scheduled payout. Repeated chargebacks affecting the same renter may result in removal of that renter's plan.

RentEase does not act as your property manager, lease enforcer, or escrow agent. You remain solely responsible for the lease, the security deposit, maintenance, and compliance with landlord-tenant law in your jurisdiction.

8. Default & termination

If a renter defaults on a plan, RentEasemay terminate the plan, demand the remaining balance, and pursue collection as described in section 6. RentEase does not have the authority to evict a tenant; eviction remains a matter between landlord and tenant under the lease.

A landlord may withdraw a property from RentEase at any time by closing it from the landlord dashboard. Withdrawal takes effect for the next billing cycle; in-flight plans continue until paid out.

9. Disputes between users

RentEase is not a party to the underlying lease between renter and landlord. Disputes about the condition of the property, the security deposit, repair obligations, or any other lease matter should be raised between renter and landlord directly. We may, at our discretion, help mediate disputes but are not obligated to do so.

10. Account termination

Either you or RentEase may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, that we reasonably believe are being used for fraud, or that remain delinquent after our retry and collections process.

The following sections survive termination: section 6 (late & failed payments, including any balance owed), section 7 (chargeback recovery for landlords), section 11 (dispute resolution), and section 12 (governing law).

11. Dispute resolution & arbitration

We try to resolve disputes informally before escalating. Email rent-ease@polsia.app first; we will attempt to respond within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, the matter will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or any representative proceeding against RentEase. This arbitration clause does not prevent either party from seeking injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or confidential information.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. This selection of law is a placeholder pending confirmation by counsel and may be updated with notice before it takes binding effect.
